After years of conducting thousands of investigations, we recognised the need for a faster, more efficient way to access the information investigators and businesses rely on every day.

Rather than searching multiple databases and websites individually, we developed Desktop Trace to bring essential tracing resources together in one affordable, easy-to-use platform.

Today, Desktop Trace supports private investigators, finance companies, debt collectors, lawyers, insurers and other organisations throughout New Zealand.

Her professional background includes:

• Former police officer with the NSW Police Service in Australia.
• Bachelor of Laws from Bond University and Master of Laws from the University of Auckland.
• Former Investigating Lawyer with New Zealand’s Serious Fraud Office.
• Former Senior Investigator with the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, specialising in bankruptcy and insolvency investigations.
• Founder of Desktop Investigations in 2017, a successful private investigation and skip tracing business servicing finance companies, insurers, debt collectors, lawyers and private investigators throughout New Zealand and Australia. The business was sold in July 2023.
• Founder of Desktop Trace, developed to make professional tracing tools more accessible, efficient and affordable.

With a career spanning law enforcement, legal practice and private investigations, Chéney brings a practical understanding of the information, accuracy and compliance requirements involved in professional tracing.
